Content Usage Notice ©
24/01/2026
It has become apparent that some people have been taking and using my images (mainly from where I have posted on radmon.org.) This is not permitted. My images and content are not open source. They are closed source, private copyright content that remain my intellectual property.
I take time to research and curate the subjects I write about. The images I post don't just grow on trees, they take time to photograph and post process before I post them.
They are not free and you have no right to use them as your own.
That said, in certain circumstances I may grant a person permission to use said content providing the following criteria are met:
- You ask for permission first, stating exactly what you want to use and especially, where you wish to use them.
- Do not ask permission if you wish to use my content on any social media platform - the answer will simply be 'no'. My content is never to be reproduced on any social media platform, ever.
- Do not ask permission if you wish to use my content on any open source project or platform - the answer again, will simply be 'no'. My content is never to be reproduced on any open source project or platform, ever.
- To attain permission for using my content please contact me by email at the address on my contact page, stating the exact content you wish to use, provide links to such content you wish to use, and provide where you wish to use the content with links to where you want to use the content.
The reasons I forbid my content on any social media platform and/or as part of an open source project or platform are these:
Social media:
Most social media platforms state that by uploading content to their servers, the user is granting the platform a license to use it in certain ways. I will use Facebook as an example.
If an image is uploaded to Facebook, the user is granting Meta et al, a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license. this gives Facebook, Meta et al a license to:
- Display the content within Facebook, Instagram, and related Meta services.
- Show the content in connection with ads.
- Technically modify it for platform use.
- Lets their infrastructure partners (CDNs, hosting providers, moderation systems, etc.) technically handle the content.
- And, copies may persist if other users have already shared your content and haven’t deleted it.
Open source projects or platforms:
It is forbidden to use any of my content as a part of an open source project or on an open source platform, simply because as soon as that content is a part of the open source project ecosystem it goes under the open source license governing said project, and essentially gives anyone carte blanche to use my content under said open source license. My content is not open source (unless explicitly stated) and I shall retain all rights at all times.
Exceptions to this:
As stated above, permission may be granted to use my content in certain circumstances, such as your non-commercial personal website or blog. You should ask for permission in this case.
Datasheets, manuals and other material and content, where I am not the author, is subject to the original license terms granted with said content or material.
I will allow people a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal license for use of my content under the following terms:
Personal Use License for Website Content
